The LORD’s Passover

“And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.

Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.”

(Luke 23:33-34)

“Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.

Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Ca’ia-phas,

And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.” (Matthew 26:2-4)

“But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:”(1Peter 1:19)

“And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.

And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses were ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.” (Exodus 12:7,13-14)

“And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:

And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.”

(Luke 22:15,19-20)

“But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.” (John 19:34)
